STUDIO KOJO KUSI
ABOUT DESIGNER
Kojo Kusi is a visionary designer who embarked on his creative journey since he was teenager.
With a background in Visual Arts, Kojo has always possessed a keen creative eye and anticipated venturing into a creative profession post-graduation. He views his designs as a fusion of art and fashion, with each garment serving as a canvas for his artistic expression. Hailing from Ashaiman in Accra, Ghana, Kojo didn’t let his environment define his destiny; instead, he pursued his passion with zeal. It wasn’t until his final year in Senior High School that he considered becoming a designer, a decision solidified in 2017 when he began training as a tailor’s apprentice. Art has always been a cornerstone of his identity, and he knew it would feature prominently in his career.
When it comes to inspiration, Kojo turns to the abundant ideas he had as a teenager, revisiting his past concepts now that he has the skills to realize them. He admires brands like Maison Margiela, and Alexander McQueen, which also influence his creative process. This blend of personal history and respect for established fashion houses shapes the unique collections Kojo brings to life.
